Ashton New Rd, Manchester M11 3FF, UK
The City of Manchester Stadium (referred to officially as the Etihad Stadium following their 10-year sponsorship deal) is one of the most formidable home grounds in the Premier League. Away fans always know their team could get demolished down on the field, so the atmosphere is excitable and vibrant. It’s quite new, and the facilities match that: swanky concourses and no peeling paint or rusty pipes on show! The 55,000-seater stadium isn’t the biggest in the premier league, but attracts huge crowds to every single game. If you get the chance to go, don’t turn it down!
As one of the most recognisable stadiums in the world, it was built with design and acoustics in mind – the state of the art stadium doesn’t have a bad seat in the house and when there is noise it is amplified to great effect. Some fans have criticised it for a lack of atmosphere but you can be sure as Manchester City get bigger and bigger, so will the noise.
